A bit disconcerting at first, when I took it out of storage, but a bit of shaking and rolling the globe around in my hands got them upright and into position. Kinda nice in the long run, since you can position them facing in any direction you wish! The globe sits on a beautifully sculpted base, with forest, boulders and flowers behind, and an underwater view of the river in front– complete with fish and two very cute otters swimming half-in and half-out of the water.
